I first came across Edmonton, Canada’s The Provincial Archive when they played a night at The Gallimaufry in Bristol with George Ezra last year. Playing an entire set of gorgeous indie-folk despite being heckled by a very drunk elderly lady takes some true talent and I was excited to hear that they were back in the UK once again. Having had my friend Andy’s band support them on their London date and agree to meet up again in Bristol, I took this as the perfect opportunity to grab a performance with the guys for my very first contribution to Croft Sessions.
AZTECS took us to the garden of Fazeley Studios in Digbeth, Birmingham for a solumn performance of their upcoming ‘Ice Cream’ exclusively for Croft Sessions in the run up to their first EP since the duo formed at the end of ‘Siblings’
Brum Notes invited us into Swordfish Records Store to film a special session with several talented artists on Record Store Day 2014 – we crammed into this tiny haven of all things vinyl to enjoy some performances from Charlotte Carpenter, DRAKELOW & Matthew Edwards.

The renowned Hare & Hounds gleamed with leaks of sunlight through its windows and Luke’s track filled the room with good vibes as we jam into 30 fantastic sessions.
DRAKELOW took us to the abandoned upstairs of Cherry Reds in Birmingham to exclusively perform their forthcoming “String” Part of a double A side single released exclusively for Record Store Day 2014.

We collaborated with Steam Plough Studio to present a night of exclusive session performances in a secret London location with performances from Ben Wells, Rosie May, Richard Judge and more.
I’ve been a huge fan of The Bronze Medal for a very long time – Chris from the band had a solo project called Thoughtless Jolly and I have been following his work ever since. The bands manager e-mailed us in February, and we eagerly arranged a date to film a session with them.
After we had the privilege of being invited to the BBC Introducing In The West’s ‘Halls of Resonance’ event we’d found out that Meadowlark would be attending and performing. We’re both big fans already and they’re one of those bands we’d always wanted to film.
